Wall Mural

It is a beautiful time of the year. Hope your trees are up and lights are on :)

I found this on Pinterest and immediately loved it. Was sure I wanted to do on my balcony wall. First I had to check if I will be able to reproduce it, which I did now :)

Original

My version
The bigger task is now to transfer this to the wall :) Hope to do that soon.

Merry Christmas all..

It's the best time of the year! :)

Isn't it really the best time of the year. I love Christmas time and everything about Christmas. I so badly wanted to keep a huge tree and completely cover my place with Christmassy things, but alas didn't get time to shop before 1st and waa particular about doing it on time. So rather, I filled my social networking sites with Christmassy feelings :)

That's the highest creative thing I could do this season :( Sad, hibernation in progress!!)

Have a look at my facebook cover page :P

Not just that, I changed the Board Cover of the boards in my Pinterest too!! I know, too lame!! :D
But I had fun selecting the right pin for Christmas from my boards. Some by theme, some by colour. I <3 them now! :)

This season of spreading joy and love, here is the photo I will leave you with. Have a great one!

K was wearing a T-Shirt which reminded me of Black Board and with the chalk piece handy, could not resist this =)

Spread <3 and stay :)

Washi Tape projects

This time I decided to Washi tape my laptop. Need to yet get more creative with it. But for a start, I feel this is good. Less is more, sometimes :)

Upcycled lamp

This is something I did few weeks ago, but managed to click pictures only now.

I had this lantern which I bought years ago and it was just lying around in my kitchen loft. I also had this string of lights I bought for Christmas which I wanted to use somehow. Bingo! I am sure you guessed by now. I just got them together to make a lamp :)

Just pushed the string lights into the lantern

Voila! :)
Enlightened :)

Sits pretty on my living room corner now!

Do you have any upcycled projects done lately. Mail me your pictures to colourmilldesigns(at)gmail(dot)com. I shall feature them here.

Washi Tapes!

I mentioned about the Washi Tapes K got for me from Japan. I have not really tried doing anything, except for few strips on a gift. So yesterday I googled about washi, found few ideas and decided to personalise my phone :) So far, I have used only one of the four. Need to figure out what to do with the rest!

So colourful, right :)

It totally matches my phone colours :)
Next, it is going to be my laptop :) What are your ideas??

Kitchen refashioned!

My kitchen has been needing makeover since I don't know when, that long. So like I mentioned earlier, I got  rid of all my plastic spice boxes and got myself lovely looking glass jars. I avoid buying plastic as well. All my fridge bottles are glass. Suddenly I see a rage of glass storage options in the market as well. It is fun shopping for Kitchen stuff, I am sure you will agree.

Don't they look cute? :)

My favourite coloured mugs and K's favourite glass Latte mugs

Stumbled upon these cute chai glasses on a trip to market one day
Now, they are mine :)

Glimpses of my home..

Hello Friends,

I am slowly getting back at regular blogging. I badly want to.

Latest from my abode is that, I have been re-decorating. Things which I have had for more that 1.5 years are finally on my wall now :P . Yeah, I am too lazy to call the carpenter/electrician and the sorts. I feel they disturb my routine (rather the routine-less routine!) :-)

So the happy news is that finally I have fixed my lampshades and few shelves. I am loving the new look of my home. Hope you all will too :)

Blame Pinterest!

Blame Pinterest that I am not blogging regularly these days. I really really miss it and feel I have not been creatively productive at all!!

I have been busy and I even spent some quality time doing few things at home. I got rid of all my plastic spice dabbas and got myself lovely Yera jars :) Some new lampshades, some re-arrangement. In between all these, few super exciting weddings also, yeah work also keeps me busy! ;-)
It hasn't been really the same feeling as creating or making something, but I have been making it up with time on Pinterest! Now I have a really big DIY list on Pinterest, but haven't done even one :P

So last week, my husband got back from Tokyo. I had asked him only for one thing to get for me - yes! Washi Tapes!!! :) I am really excited and want to do something really nice with it. I am off to Kerala to say Hi to Monsoon and as soon as I am back, I am going to do something with the Washi tapes.

I wanna do lot of things, I just need more motivation, inspiration :)

Pinterest sometime just gives that, but I guess I need to make myself a real pin board, take all the prints from Pinterest and pin them on! Then may be I will do it :D
My friend never encourages me to talk about Pinterest to people who do not know about it. She is possessive about Pinterest and wants to keep it only to people who 'suit' Pinterest. I agree you need certain taste and creative inclination to survive on Pinterest. You need to be brave about your choices and tastes and also about people knowing it. It is definitely not for fakers!! You need to be yourself. It is for us, not them! :)
